Questly - Play Beyond

Questly is a mobile gaming app concept designed for players who want a simpler way to explore games and share their gaming journey. The experience brings together curated game discovery, personal achievements, progress tracking, and social features into one cohesive platform.

The visual direction balances high-energy gaming culture with a polished and approachable interface. A coral and peach foundation creates warmth and personality, while deep navy, cobalt blue, violet, and lime accents highlight interactive moments such as XP progress, missions, rewards, and friend activity.

The challenge

Gaming platforms often feel crowded, overly technical, or focused on a single purpose such as purchasing, streaming, or competition. The challenge was to design an app that could organise game discovery, personal progression, and social interaction without overwhelming players with too much information.

Another key challenge was creating a visual identity that felt clearly connected to gaming without relying on generic visual clichés such as aggressive neon effects, dark sci-fi interfaces, or game-specific branding.

The solution

The app was structured around three clear user needs: discover, progress, and connect. Curated game collections make it easier to find relevant titles, a central progression view helps users track XP, achievements, and missions, while social tools surface friends’ activity and shared challenges.

The interface uses modular cards, clear hierarchy, and colour-coded interactions to make information easy to scan. The warm coral and peach palette gives Questly a more welcoming personality, while darker UI surfaces and vibrant accents preserve the energy and excitement expected from a gaming product.
